A letter that changed my life permanently for the better!
Living in the fastest era of digital information, we have more pressure to compete with others than we’ve ever been. Each time, we see a post on Facebook, unconsciously we start to compare ourselves to others. We are conditioned to fit into others’ expectations and need their validation to feel good enough. Those external pressures are beyond our control. However, we have the power to choose our reaction and how it impacts us.
Many of us, including myself, found it easier to self-judge rather than self-compliment ourselves. Despite knowing that our soul is perfectly fine and designed for this lifetime, we rarely acknowledge ourselves.
Instead of directing your energy into the negative aspects, you need to shift your redirect to acknowledge your positive sides and your accomplishments. Remember what you give energy to will grow. This will train your brain to seek internal validation of your self-worth.
This will liberate you from the need to chase perfections. It’s the most wonderful expression of love for yourself. Take a moment to reflect and appreciate:
· How much you’ve grown after overcoming recent life challenges.
· How committed you were to changing yourself for the better.
· How courageous you were to accept yourself despite others’ rejections.
· Consider any other accomplishment which may have gone unappreciated that deserves your acknowledgment.
When you look up to where you want to be, there is always more to do or learn. Yet, if you look back to where you were before, you’ll realize that you achieved a lot. So write a thank you letter to yourself for what you do, what you’ve accomplished, and who you are.
Here is mine for your inspiration! This 10 minutes practice has changed my perspective of myself! I am sure your letter will make the same impact too.
Dearest Yuliana,
You are like a lighthouse in the vast ocean. For some, you may only be a random tiny dot in the sky. Yet, you are a beacon of light for others.
You are courageously dedicating yourself through emails and social media posts that motivate, heal, inspire, and uplift others. Despite having to face your own storms along the way, your rebellious spirit empowers others to continue reclaiming their power and self-worth so that we can live a life that is true to us.
Today, I want you to know how much I love and appreciate you for just being you. My love will soothe those tears in your eyes from being let down and rejected because you choose yourself first. I am so proud of your unbecoming process and who you became today as a result.
From the bottom of my heart, I sincerely thank you for just being you!
With love and gratitude,
Yuliana
